Two whose Paths cross: Concerning Óscar Domínguez and Pablo Picasso
Sept 18 – 19, 2025
Writing and introduction to poetic action workshop taught by Isidro Hernández Gutiérrez.
The monumentality of Pablo Picasso’s oeuvre and the versatility of Óscar Domínguez’s paintings offer us a dream machinery capable of shattering immediate reality through deviant and challenging metaphors, as their creations constitute one of the highest expressions of the impulse to play, which is free and unpredictable.
Over the course of two sessions, this workshop on writing and an introduction to poetic creation through play is an experimental writing laboratory that draws on the example of the subversive and dizzying images of Surrealism as an incitement to writing without constraints, free at last, elevated to the heights of the imaginary. The activity is rounded off with a visit to the Óscar Domínguez exhibition, guided by the show’s curator.
