Relief printmaking workshop: linocut printmaking
Nov 21, 2024
Intaglio printmaking workshops for adults.
Pablo Picasso produced more than two thousand graphic works throughout his lifetime. Both the volume of this output and the variety of techniques he mastered make him one of the most productive printmakers in history. He executed his first print at the age of eighteen and continued to produce them until the year before his death.
In connection with the recent opening of the Picasso and Printmaking space, the Museum is staging a workshop that offers the chance to learn about and practise this relief printmaking technique. After visiting the galleries with an educator, participants will each work on a flexible linoleum sheet using blades and gouges. When this process has been completed, the sheets will be inked and printed in a press.
The price of the workshop includes admission to the Museum, a guided tour of the collection and all the materials: linoleum sheet, gouges, inks, paper, rollers.
