Art, music and workshops for all audiences

Throughout Easter, Museo Picasso Málaga will be open every day during its usual Spring opening hours, from Monday to Sunday, 11.00am to 6.00pm, making it easy for Malagueños and visitors to come to the gallery during this holiday period. As always, admission is free on Sundays during the last two hours of opening.

Besides the works on display in the Dialogues with Picasso. Collection 2020-2023 permanent exhibition rooms, where visitors can see the guest work “Glass, Newspaper and Dice”, from the Paris Picasso Museum, they will also be able to visit the temporary exhibition Miquel Barceló. Metamorphosis and and Cherry, an installation by James Turrell.

MPM has also organized art workshops over Easter for children and youngsters, as well as family and adult workshops on the weekends, and will be hosting a concert by wind ensemble Harmoniemusik, to complete the artistic and cultural offerings for Easter week. Tickets can be purchased online at www.museopicassomalaga.org and at the museum ticket office.

Alongside the exhibitions, MPM is also offering several events for visitors who want to continue enjoying culture over Easter. On Sunday 28th March, at 12 noon, there will be a concert by wind ensemble Harmoniemusik in the MPM Auditorium, as part of the 15th Cycle of Chamber Music by the Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga. The first half of the concert will be devoted to the score of Obertura “Una cosa rara”, by Vicente Martín i Soler, while in the second half we will be hearing Mozart’s Serenata nº 10, K361 “Gran Partita”.

In the safe and comfortable El otro Museo space, there will be new workshops for adults and families, based on the works of Pablo Picasso and Miquel Barceló currently on display in the museum’s exhibition rooms. On Saturday 27th March at 11.00am, there will be a workshop On Clay, and on Sunday 28th March at 11.00am and 12.30pm, there will a Museum in Movement family workshop, Still Lifes, where they will be able to work on cutting out and sticking coloured card and paper, and with 3D textures. On Saturday 3rd April at 11.00am, there will be a new activity for adults with the watercolour workshop Painted Literature, which will explore the endless possibilities of this technique.

From 5th to 9th April, also from 9.00am to 2.00pm, there will be a new Easter Workshop, From Picasso to Barceló, in which young artists can continue to learn and have fun getting to know the work of Pablo Picasso and Miquel Barceló.
