To tie in with the exhibition Joaquín Torres-García: The Arcadian Modern, Museo Picasso Málaga has organized a series of activities based on the different themes that serve as the backbone of this retrospective of the Uruguayan artist’s work.

The series open with a talk by the exhibition’s curator, Luis Pérez-Oramas, which focused on the most relevant themes in the retrospective and on the artist’s body of work, as well as looking at Torres-García in the context of the various Latin American modern art movements. Eugenio Carmona, Professor of history of art at Universidad de Málaga, examined Torres-García’s influence on art in Spain during the first half of the 20th century.
