Lipovetsky talks to José Carlos Ruiz and José Lebrero Stals about the human condition

Monday, 9 Mar. 2020
MPM Auditorium | 7.30pm

Museo Picasso Málaga is collaborating once again with Maf 2020 - the prologue to the 23rd Festival Málaga - which this year will be focussing on one of the key discourses of this edition of the festival: the climate emergency, the greatest challenge of our time and probably the greatest humanity has ever faced.

The French philosopher and sociologist Gilles Lipovetsky will be talking to fellow-philosopher and professor at the University of Córdoba José Carlos Ruiz, and Museo Picasso Málaga’s artistic director José Lebrero Stals. They will be analysing the transversal approach required by climate change and the alternatives that cultural practice can offer, as well as looking at ways to generate a climate consciousness that is able to reflect what the human condition is going through at present.

In this three-way conversation, the speakers will examine the new climate paradigm, its cultural, political and economic impact, and the challenges, difficulties and emotional consequences that humanity faces.

The talk will be given with simultaneous translation in Spanish.

Admission will be free until all places are taken.
