Jazz at MPM

Fred Hersch Trio

29 Oct. 2019
MPM Auditorium | 9pm

The Museo Picasso Málaga auditorium is programming jazz again this Autumn, with the 10th edition of an unmissable cycle for lovers of this musical genre.

Fred Hersch is the most influential and creative pianist of the past few decades and is master to an entire generation of jazz pianists - and not just pianists. His inexhaustible knowledge of the jazz language is privileged, unique and unparalleled. Hersch is a leading name on the contemporary jazz scene, with a career as an improviser, composer and bandleader behind him, as well as collaborating with other formations. He also has his own group, forming a trio with bass-player John Hèbert and drummer Eric McPherson, whom Hersch joined ten years ago. It was named runner-up jazz ensemble in DownBeat magazine 2018 critics’ poll, which recognized his ability to work across a broad range of styles and approaches with his compositions.

Fred Hersch: piano.
John Hèbert: bass.
Eric McPherson: drums.

In 2010, Museo Picasso Málaga began to schedule jazz as part of its cultural activities and considers that the jazz beat shares with Picasso a relevant, untameable and ever-evolving spirit.

Price: 10 euros per person, per concert.

Tickets on sale here and at the museum ticket office.
