I always had the fear of being separated and abandoned. The sewing is my attempt to keep things together and make things whole.

Louise Bourgeois

On the occasion of the exhibition Louise Bourgeois. I Have Been to Hell and Back, Museo Picasso Málaga offered a series of activities around the sewing, weaving and knitting inspired by the work of this great artist.

GATHERINGS
Friday 19th June, 17th July and 25th September.
5pm (Participants will have access to the Louise Bourgeois exhibition as of 4pm)
One Friday a month- except August -, for the duration of the exhibition, gatherings were hold in different areas of the museum. Participants sewed, weaved and knitted together. In collaboration with Málaga Knits.

ONGOING COLECTIVE PROJECT
From 22th June
Visitors used a loom to weave a collective tapestry, that was completed as the exhibition progressed. Warp, weft and manual work to reflect on the craft and its symbolism throughout art history.

A DAY WITH LOUISE BOURGEOIS
27th June and 26th September
Sewing and weave were also present in these two days set aside for examining the life and work of Louise Bourgeois from different angles. The Museum organized activities available for differents types of publics, and with the help of invited experts, so as to get to know more about the artist’s work.
