Guided visit to the exhibition
and screening of documentaries

Summer Cinema: Auerbach and Rego

Friday 25 Aug. 2017
MPM Garden | 9pm

On the occasion of Bacon, Freud and the School of London, Museo Picasso Málaga organized an evening devoted to exploring the life and work of Frank Auerbach and Paula Rego, two of the artists whose work was in this exhibition.

The programme began at 9pm with a visit to the exhibition, guided by a MPM educator. Then, at 10pm in the museum garden, there was a screening of the documentaries Frank Auerbach: To the Studio and Paula Rego: Telling Tales, both in original version subtitled in Spanish.

Directed in 2002 by Hannah Rothchild, the documentary Frank Auerbach: To the Studio interviews with the artist and with a number of his sitters, revealing the routine of his studio practice and approach to painting models in the studio. Paula Rego: Telling Tales documents the artist at her retrospective at the Reina Sofia in Madrid and in her studio in London while she talks about her work and her private life, emerging through her work. The film was directed in 2009 by Jake Auerbach.

Tickets: 7 euros. Price included visit to the exhibition and one drink (beer or non-alcoholic beverage). The screening was free.

It was possible to attend only the projection. For this you could collect free invitations at the Museum Box Office (maximum two per person) from one hour before the start of the screening. Limited places. Access through the main entrance, in Calle San Agustín.

Bacon, Freud and the School of London was organised by Tate, London, with the collaboration with Museo Picasso Málaga and the sponsorship of CaixaBank.
