Poetry at MPM
Continent Cut Off

Roger Wolfe

Thursday 6 Jul. 2017
MPM Garden | 9pm

Activity in Spanish

This edition of Poetry at MPM was linked to Museo Picasso Málaga’s exhibition, Bacon, Freud and the School of London. It was subtitled Continent Cut Off as a reminder of the headline wrongly attributed to the Daily Telegraph that stated: “Fog in the Channel. Continent cut off”. At a time when Brexit could come to mean the mutual isolation of the United Kingdom and the European Union, this cycle of poetry aimed to highlight the myriad bonds that exist between both territories, including that of language. Poetry in English, the lingua franca of our time, has many devotees in Spain. This series of recitals, organized with the Centro Andaluz de las Letras, was dedicated to them.

Free Entrance. Access through the MPM main entrance, on Calle San Agustín 8.
