Poetry at the Picasso: Poetry, you’re pop

Juan Cobos Wilkins and Martirio

Poetry reading

Thursday 7 Jun. 2018
MPM Garden | 9pm

Coinciding with the Andy Warhol temporary exhibition at Museo Picasso Málaga, the Poetry at the Picasso series scheduled for June 2018 focuses on the connections between poetry and music and Pop Art, with a series of shared looks at a phenomenon that had a profound impact on contemporary culture.

The versatile and heterodox musical career of singer Martirio (rock, pop, copla, bolero, jazz, tango, flamenco…), who is one of Spain’s top reinterpreted pop icons, interweaves, in a fertile exchange, with the literary career of writer Juan Cobos Wilkins (poetry, novels, stories, film, theatre…). Both are from Huelva, and they reinterpret the universe in their own special way. They will be talking about it during an evening that will also feature a capela songs.
