Poetry at the Picasso: Poetry, you’re pop

Pablo Sycet and Alfredo Taján

Poetry reading

Thursday 14 Jun. 2018
MPM Garden | 9pm

Coinciding with the Andy Warhol temporary exhibition at Museo Picasso Málaga, the Poetry at the Picasso series scheduled for June 2018 focuses on the connections between poetry and music and Pop Art, with a series of shared looks at a phenomenon that had a profound impact on contemporary culture.

Pablo Sycet, one of the key Andalusian painters of the 1980s, has written lyrics for Fangoria and Luz Casal, as well as for bands such as Avíate!, Pentimento and Zorongo Club.  He has designed sleeves for records that include 100 éxitos del pop español; Angelis (El Bosco); A veces hay un cielo (Luz); Diez (Alaska y Dinarama); Directamente (Avíate!), and Azul (Tahures Zurdos). Here, he will be talking to Málaga-born poet and narrator Alfredo Taján, who was formerly a vocalist with the band Generación Mishima.

Free Entrance. Access through the MPM main entrance, on Calle San Agustín 8.

This recitals are organized with the Centro Andaluz de las Letras.
